It's alright, it works well enough! I just sewed the star on slightly crooked, but it isn't very noticeable if I pin it on the coat slightly tilted Sweating - Remake
And thanks! I kind of have an idea, but I just need to find that really large cardboard tube that was in my room... I think my parents took it and threw it out .3.

what size of heart did you use?
Reply
:iconroseannepage:
roseannepage Featured By Owner Jun 24, 2012  Hobbyist Digital Artist
i have no idea XD but the thickness of it was slighting smaller than the size of the wrapping paper roll. so i guess it was faily big.

Okay, well I still have to buy the heart (either that, or I'll build it completely out of wood). I'll just bring the little part of the tube with me to see what fits and what doesn't. Thanks!

Bloody question, if you smack it against something, would it break? (Not saying you have to, just wondering)

depends how hard you smack something. but it should be able to take some hits. papier mache is strong stuff.

is tissue paper better for mache then news paper?

newspaper is thicker and might not flowinto small creases like tissue paper. newspaper is good to buildup your form though and maybe to a sloppy first coat.

no problem. you can use many types of paper really. paper towels, newspaper, tissue paper, facial tissue, toilet paper. then thinner mor delicate papers are better suited for the last layer. also you can make your glue paste with either flour, water and salt or white craft glue and water. i prefer the flour+water+salt one since it's cheeper XD
